It was because of accounts like this and similar doubts that Tim Mahoney decided to investigate and understand for himself what the truth was behind these claims. As many claims seemed to be undeniable and came from experts in the field of archaeology.
It was through this journey that Tim first ran into some massive roadblocks and objections from some of the most respected historians of Egypt in Bible times,, having to face his own dilemma.
In 2002, Tim had the opportunity to travel to Egypt and make a documentary film on the route that Moses and the Israelites would have taken on their journey to Mount Sinai during the Exodus. His film crew went to a number of locations; and one of the most important was in the region where the early Israelites would have lived in the land of Goshen, the northeast portion of the Nile Delta.
It was there that Tim interviewed a renowned Egyptologist, Manfred Bietak. Tim asked him if he had found any evidence for the early Israelites living in the area.
